Hi, I wrote the article so just wanted to pick up on your point about the same old factoid:
The White Room was the first album I bought, at 12 yrs old. I was consumed with both rave culture and metal/industrial music, so watched gleefully as they brought Extreme Noise Terror out for the Brit awards. I fucking loved everything about their big fuck-you to the industry.
I wish I'd have had time to write a 2,000 word piece about Jimmy and his previous work, would love to have, but time is money. I'd also love not to have mentioned the million quid — which I didn't in the piece, but ... and here it is, unfortunately it's 2016, and the million quid thing is news to a lot of people reading the web, it's also something that causes interest when the headline is seen on social media. I can't bring myself to write the fucking '...you won't believe what happened next' cuntery that does the rounds on the net (and makes lots of people a lot of money in traffic/advertising), but I know I need to get people to visit the site, otherwise I'll stop earning enough money from doing something relatively fun to keep me working for myself — away from the big ugly hamster wheel of capitalism.
So that's it really, not a very succinct response, just want you to know that sometimes the press rolling out the same old shit isn't always what it seems. Peace.
