I use a Mac app called Lunar (https://lunar.fyi) to control the brightness/contrast of my external monitor. The app uses your location to automatically brighten or dim your monitor depending on the time of day. For me, it’s well worth the money. The developer also promptly replied to a question sent via email and solved my problem.
Howdy HN, I'm part of a small team in Seattle, WA that worked over the last 2 weeks to put together a contact tracing app that is focused on user privacy. The app works by recording your location history for a 3 week period and then comparing it against the location history of reported COVID-19 infections. All of the comparisons happen on your phone, so your location history never leaves your device unless you report an infection.
Our app is ready to launch in the Google and Apple app stores, but they have changed their requirements for anything COVID related, which means we have to partner with a recognized institution. +1 for Sqitch. If you include a full deploy -> verify -> revert -> deploy flow in your automated testing suite you can pretty safely introduce changes that can be rolled back without issue. This has served my team well on several complicated databases over the past two years.
I started writing a budgeting app very similar to YNAB. Had basic integration with the Plaid API, Next.js (React) with PostgREST and Postgres, Auth0, Bootstrap among some other things.

Using it for several low to high traffic web apps. Using GKE, Storage, managed Postgres, Redis, Global Load Balancers, custom VPC networking with VPN to AWS and more. All managed via Terraform. Very capable and production ready in my experience.
YNAB [0] is great if you can get behind their somewhat unique budgeting system. It is a subscription product but is easily the most valuable subscription product I use.
Like any good interview question it leaves a lot of room for the candidate to take the lead, ask questions and define the scope of the problem. These are all useful skills to assess for a senior position.
Of course an hour long interview is not enough time to implement the full Promise spec but it should be enough time to gauge the level of a candidate.
Reimplement things from scratch. I’d recommend implementing Promises from scratch as well as several Async [0] functions like auto or series. Both are questions I’ve asked of senior level JS/Node engineers. This isn’t exhaustive but it’s good practice for sure. Good luck!

I agree with you to a degree, but I think you might be missing a major benefit mindfulness meditation. In particular, mindfulness meditation helps you to reprogram the way you relate to experiences and thoughts in a way that, in my experience, does eliminate stress.
In other words, my relationship with experiences and thoughts can tend to be either more objective or more subjective (perhaps reactive is a better word). The more objectively I view things, the less those things elicit a stress response. Again, this is in my experience and might not be universally true.
Sure there are stimuli that, for most people, will always elicit a stressful response. I would guess (emphasis on the word guess) this comprises at most ~10% of a person’s thoughts and experiences which is likely much less than most people think.
+1 well worth checking this tool out. Saved me a lot of effort setting up a GCP Kubernetes deployment two months ago. So far it has been a matter of set it and forget it.
