I don't really have a side here, I am not surprised in the slightest that people say things that others can find offensive (what a shocker).
However since we're in the era of unerasable past, its kind of expected for people to do dig up the past. I do wonder if "society" will start applying a consistency stick to what people say. I.e. if they have had a consistent view on say pedophilia in this instance.
On that note was Stallman consistent over time to this day?
This feels like an awfully familiar story. I do wonder if there aren't enough resources allocated at google to handle these types of cases. Instead we have them ending up on HN to reach some type of fix/closure from the google team.
as an example, I met one of my good friends there. It started with smiling and nodding, and one day I asked him about an exercise I didn't do and asked why he does it. Asked him to watch my form while I did it.
From there it was just getting his name, and whenever i saw him at the gym he and I made small talk (I made an effort to do this). Asking about how someones day to how their weekend goes a long way (it's very normal for people to do this in general).
I also sympathise with the OP, as I had problems forging relationships. But I just kept at speaking with people, and showed general interest in the things they do and soon enough they start asking about me.
When they start asking things like: got much planned for the weekend etc, it will usually lead to "want to come out with us". I am not sure about your environment at the gym, but we have a very friendly group of people.
It doesn't have to be gym, it could be anything from pottery classes, to painting or in my example the gym. Just have to get out there, and do things with people :)
I started going to the gym to get fit. Turns out there are people there with similar interests. So you end up making friends. They invite you out, or you invite them etc.
Friends and family are important. My point is, its never too late to make friends. Find a hobby which involves other people. You will naturally make friends, and stop drinking and eating by your self.
you'll be happier as a result and stop looking for things to fill your time with. You might even end up laughing and having fun.
I don't enjoy getting into arguments about claims in a blog which does not cite appropriate scientific journals/papers to back up their argument.
At least the bodybuilding camp (extremely high consumers of protein) cites such papers, and you only need to go to reddit/r/fitness, or 4chan/fit, or even bodybuilding.com.
Yes, when they type the ticket in it pages someone who can action it. They don't wait till 9am next morning to service the ticket. They get it done as humanly as possible.
EDIT: its not just for total system outages, it can be things which are localised to your cluster, or whatever - who knows. This is why these services are offered. To give those who need the piece of mind that if shit goes wrong, the company you're paying will deal with immediately.
If Google is positive that their services will be uninterrupted or error prone between 9pm and 9am then they should advertise so. Things happen. Things do go wrong, they should think about expanding their support teams in other international offices to have a good coverage for the world clock.
> Why are Bitcoins valuable? Anyone thinking of buying an ASIC or a Bitcoin should read from the Bitcoin boosters the answer to this question. There is no answer. Which is why Bitcoin is bound to crash.
Simple answer: Supply and demand. There is demand, you just have to research for more than 20 minutes to find the reasons for the demand aside from the artificial one created from people using it as a means for returns in investment.
Why do you jump to conclusions on topics in which you are clearly uninformed?
Since I won't see this again I thought I'd mention it - just becareful you might be violating a patent by displaying the resulting webpage of a link as an image. And I agree with the rest, this isn't the place for that.
