Invoice2go | Sr. Software Engineer (Data) | US (REMOTE) or Sydney, AU (ONSITE) | Full-time | $120k - $160k DOE | https://invoice.2go.com/
Invoice2go helps small businesses get paid.
With over a quarter million subscribers worldwide, Invoice2go helps small businesses operate so they can focus on their work instead of worrying about finances. Providing web and top-rated iOS and Android apps, now has never been a better time to join a (profitable) company focused on a market that has actually grown in the last year, with a pipeline of amazing product launches coming in the next few months to bring even more value to our users.
We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our exceptional Data team. ETL, data warehousing, and strong Python skills are a must. Even better if you bring knowledge of Amazon Redshift, Apache Airflow, data security and compliance, or additional full stack experience. The right person will be fluid between light project management, solution architecture, and hands-on coding, and in turn will be given the freedom (and will be expected) to balance as needed.
We have openings in many technical and non-technical roles (https://invoice.2go.com/careers/) but for this one in particular, email me at my username @invoice2go.com.
In some cases we need to do an update-deploy-restart while a DAG is still running (not even the one being updated). Then several minutes or hours later the child processes raise a segfault and the jobs they were working on fail, requiring restarting any of those jobs. I imagine a graceful shutdown would allow the job to finish up and the DAG to continue with the remaining jobs.
> our credit score is simple... It’s measured from our assets, our income, and if we have bought on credit in the past and managed it well.
Having worked in mortgage lending for many years, I'd like to point out that this isn't true. Your score (generated by the big 3 bureaus) does not take income or assets into account, it's based on credit utilization, payment history, and similar factors reported by your existing creditors and public records (BKs, judgments). That's why more factors go into extending you credit (credit card, mortgage, auto loan), than your score alone.
As someone who has been in the RE industry for 6+ years now (loan officer and now processing):
> how inefficient the real estate industry is. There's so much regulations
My biggest time consumer are boilerplate disclosures and astonishing conditions, which have become nightmarish since the housing crisis. That 10 day delay in closing? Someone mis-dated and now we have to wait out Dodd-Frank before proceeding. That 41 page package of forms you need to sign and return before we can even begin underwriting? Sorry, required. The $150 you received from your grandmother for your birthday? Yeah, we're going to need a gift letter. I wish I was being facetious.
> people taking a huge slice out of the consumers pocket
Unfortunately, RE and mortgages are just high-touch industries. People need to be re-assured that someone is working on their behalf. Look what happens when PayPal shuts down an account and gives a generic response? Or Google does the same when blocking a Gmail or AdSense account? People have a complete meltdown. Imagine if that is someone's home purchase (doubly worse for first time homebuyers), and they receive an email stating "Sorry, your loan was denied" with a link to "File an appeal". The ones I work for receive calls all day every day from buyers and agents wanting updates and peppering with questions and concerns.
I automate as much as I can in my workflow (thank you Python and C#) and have considered outsourcing it, but it's a job that is 95% edge cases and one-off situations. The best targets for efficiency improvement are lenders' and RE agents' internal procedures, but that's another discussion.
Yup, here in Eastwood, workers with lanyards and badges all day and all night, streaming in and out by the thousands. It's quite a sight. Great, inquisitive people and always friendly.
Originally from the states, I've been renting a condo here in Manila for going on 6mo, neighboring IBM, Dell, and several other BPO buildings. I keep on US time and can vouch for it being just as busy at 4am as 4pm. I've heard mixed reviews on retaining employees, but English is ubiquitous. I've had to call AMEX and I end up talking to someone down the street, but wouldn't have guessed until they brought it up.
