Gaming is also one of the main reasons why I still have a Windows box. However, thanks to https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton, this might be less of a problem in the future.
I think the first thing is to realize that this is normal. Whenever you start something that is outside of your comfort zone, you will most likely feel discomfort. So, trying to get rid of something that is normal won't really work :) However, what you can do is change the way you look at this discomfort. Ask yourself where it is coming from. Are you maybe afraid that you will fail? Once you see what causes the anxiety, you can start seeing it for what it is: just a feeling that comes and goes.
I have just checked how much it uses on my side: doesn't go above 50%, but I do consider that pretty high and can totally understand how it could use 100% with bigger mailboxes. For me, this was never a problem since I only run it once daily for backup.

Are you using the OfflineIMAP SQLite driver? If not, the maintainers did say it was more performant and reliable than using text files which was the default before version 7.
OfflineIMAP is not a graphical email client. It is simply a tool with which you can either backup emails from your provider using IMAP or sync a local Maildir with your provider. The tool uses the Maildir email format. More information: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maildir

You are right, my statement is not correct. It certainly does not completely negate the overhead of additional headers. It does greatly reduce it though. So far, I have only heard of compression inefficiency being a real problem when not concatenating. Do you have some examples of header overhead actually being a real issue? Would be happy to update the post.

I would also say that it is essential. On top of that, a site with ToS and privacy policy is more professional and will instil trust. I have just launched a product myself and it took just a couple of hours to have something decent.

I've used Zabbix before for monitoring a server environment of moderate size. The flexibility led to certain things not being very simple to configure. So your idea of targeting a niche is certainly a good one, you can make your product easier to use. The 2 areas that would be most useful for me are cron and database monitoring.
Something similar happened to me last year. Instead of just relaxing or taking time off, I used those 6 months to work on my life :) Most of the time I would advise people to keep the wheel rolling: use the momentum to turn your idea into reality. Taking too much time off can make it difficult to get back into it. Of course, if you need a break then take it, but keep momentum in mind...
