I was in the same spot as you, I was entering my
Masters even though I knew exactly what I wanted to do--apps.
For that reason, that whole year of my Masters felt wasted and it strained me a lot, because at the same time I tried to launch my first startup.
I think doing my Bachelors was definitely worth it, you should do your degree as long as you're not entirely sure what you're really good at.
However, you seem like you know what you want to do and at the vast cost of a degree in the U.S., if I were you, I would completely dive into consulting, apps and startups.
It is really a myth. I've developed over 30 apps so far and everything is handled by Relative Layouts.
So instead of saying that you want that button 220px to the right of the top-left corner and 100px to the bottom like on iPhone, you simply say that you want that button 20px to the right of the button on the left and 20px further down.
That's it and this way, you will have everything perfectly layed out on 95% of Android devices and it just takes the same time as on iPhone.
If you want to get the last 5%, so that your design also looks perfectly on all the weird screen sizes, then you have to put in some extra effort, but otherwise it's just the same effort as for iPhone apps.

Good luck!
