I think OP may be implying the fossil fuels are necessary for the "industrial revolution" part of a civilization's development -- and that industrial revolution is a gating factor for achieving spacefaring technology.

I would definitely argue the first point here, but not the point about crowding out. You said it yourself, there's totally room for a Cloudflare to win on UX/DX, and other areas like cost. This is the strategy the CEO mentions when he's quoting Christensen, and coming up from the bottom to compete with the big dogs. It's also why AWS will make more in a day than Cloudflare does in a year though, for now..
Agree, especially with the concession. "Big Cloud" is best equipped to deal with forthcoming regulations.
Outpost may be local zones today (needs fact check), but maybe a better question is what is the minimum service threshold for AWS to deploy a new "global zone". Considering data locality is the topic at-hand, I would surmise it's not that much and that Big Cloud can handily deploy new global zones at the rate that these new regulations crop up.
Totally separate topic -- but my other thought is these laws are totally at odds with the decentralization trend. Not sure how FileCoin, Sia, Storj et al are thinking about this... maybe building the decentralized storage _protocol_ is the escape hatch, but maybe not.
Have you looked at RNDR? Sounds like it could be a perfect match for what you are looking for. It's designed for Octane GPU renderer but there are more render engine supports coming soon I believe.
I personally am seeing a ton of activity in 3D powered web experiences. Eventually it will mix with webXR for the AR/VR devices of the future. If you are interested in these technologies, Blender will be one of the most important tools to know I suspect.

I would say that modeling teeth with geometry is very easy. The material, lighting, and rendering is the challenge, especially when you consider all of the occlusion (and hard/soft body dynamics) from your lips that is inevitable with teeth.
Some form of subsurface scattering[1] is a must, and not easily done in games/apps because you can't really "bake" it like you do for most other textures to run performantly.
I'm with you that I doubt there are GANs running in real time here, however I don't know see why they wouldn't be using similar models for offline static asset generation.
As far as scans go, it's much cheaper than you would imagine to get high quality face scans. Rigging them for animation is the real challenge, and I'd be really impressed if they were using GANs for rigging.
Pretty interesting! I have seen one or two of these "trading in public" apps emerge recently. The one that comes to mind is Commonstock.
I like that this is a public web page that can have account-less following. I could see influencer or thought leader types chucking this on their linktree or whatever.
Two pieces of feedback were (1) the sample site was on the slower side to load given its content and (2) it would be good for recent trades to have the trade type (buy/sell). Right now just looks like buy only? Bonus points for more trade types if you want to cater to the wsb crowd.
My favorite unpopular opinion to share (I work in video) is that 99% of viewers don't care about resolution above 720p. Other encoding and playback characteristics are just way more important if you aren't building for videophiles.
Netflix limiting mac chrome playback to 720p is case in point if true (though I've never heard this). What % of their "high-end" users is this? My macbook has more than five times as many pixels than 720p... I've never noticed this, and Netflix surely recognizes that they don't stand to gain much by streaming higher resolution to most users.
Netflix, of course, does build for videophiles, but I still hold my conviction to the extent that I constantly question the priority of work to make something 1080p or 4K.
I will certainly concede that VR use cases need higher than 720p resolution.
I don't know that it's outright illegal. But manipulating the price of a token for your own gain, at someone else's expense, is illicit imo.
If I know how an oracle calculates a price for a pair, I can probably alter the oracle's value for it (with a lot of volume from your flash loan), without affecting other exchanges value for it. It's certainly fascinating... ETH enables a collateral-less loan, which is wild, and something I'd point towards for skeptics who "haven't seen one use case crypto/blockchain enables that couldn't be done with a client-server model".
The reason I say it verges on illicit, is that the most profitable flash-loan trades I've read about usually depend on some form of market manipulation and special knowledge about price oracles. They're not illicit in their own right, and can be a great tool for arbitrageurs I imagine.
Admittedly, I know very little of the battery industry, and not much more about gravity battery viability.
That said, naive me would would ask why we can't just fill ballasts with waste water or other dense waste materials on-site?
Energy density over a gravity battery's working lifetime is a different metric than "per-charge", and maybe more relevant for supplying energy back to a grid (compared to, e.g. a home).
