Decoding US Government Plans to Shift the Software Security Burden

This has been going on for over a year now. Any progress in C++ land towards more memory safety?
Aversion to d-lang in particular is strange. Was it not (an acceptable) answer years ago?
Is it the position of DARPA that we should all choose Rust specifically?
I highly doubt it, because there are a lot of defense systems for which there is no Rust compiler. But anyway.
I am in charge of large C codebase that is nowhere close to the defense space and would love to move it all to memory safe languages. This is proving to be extraordinarily difficult; every time we try every arsehole with an opinion comes out of the woodwork and it devolves into a clown show of empire building. Without a clear consensus, leadership won’t accept a move. So myself and teammates are still writing new code in C.
My one big accomplishment is convincing leadership that standards of care are coming and that we need to be out in front of them. But that’s still some far off thing that doesn’t warrant immediate action :/
