It's really sad this is just another [Extended] Latin only font. One more of all these beautiful fonts I cannot use because I have to edit files in three languages. Maybe 1 in 100 developers is visually impaired, but 75 in 100 developers are not native English speakers.
What other languages are you writing in? Latin script covers a lot more languages than just English, assuming it supports at least some diacritics. English is not the only language using latin script, so the point about 75 in 100 developers not being native english speakers is inconsequential.
There is a lot of knowledge required to make a font that covers all sorts of scripts, especially with constraints like it being monospaced. It's not impossible, but it'd be a massive and expensive undertaking with arguably little benefit.

Georgian and Russian. Georgian is hopeless, I'm really just whining into the void. DejaVu is my only option to make text editor not look like a movie style ransom letter.
Instead of complaining about an American company releasing something that is useful to Americans, perhaps you should complain that companies in your country are not releasing things that are useful to people in your country.
I really do not consider Intel a US or US-focused company.

So the obvious question is why those 75% aren't making fonts?
What are the most popular / best sofware developer fonts today? Personally I am favour of Jetbrains Mono, but always interested to see if there is still typeface innovation going on after 500 years.

My intent is to make a collection of just the impactful players (influential typefaces, designers and foundries) in a concise manner. I have many other lists in the pipeline (other files in the repo). Finding it really difficult to be objective/professional about (some silly) typeface when writing about it. Although I don't want to put my opinions on a list about fonts but still feel so strongly about it that most descriptions are still left blank. Hopefully I'll be able to compile a (not so long) list about fonts very soon.

I've been using Commit Mono for the past 6 months or so and love the clarity at small sizes (for my eyes, at least). Before that, I mainly used Source Code Pro and Comic Mono. My long term friend is Bitstream Vera Sans Mono.

I can only use Ubuntu Mono. For some reason it is way more dense than any other monospace font I've found. I'd like to switch it up from time to time and try new fonts, but every time I've tried I lose a significant number of lines, or I have to set the font tiny and it looks rubbish.

Not sure if this font is still popular but I started to use terminus [1] early in my career. Since then I tried multiple other fonts but nothing stuck. I used to it over the years and to overcome familiarity I would need a font which is not just better but much better.

You can absolutely see the parallels and inspiration from the Operator font (https://www.typography.com/blog/introducing-operator) by Hoefler & Co, perhaps not surprising as one of the Intel One Mono designers is Tobias Frere-Jones, and Operator was created when Hoefler & Co was Hoefler and Frere-Jones.
They seem to really like these exaggerated curly braces.

This looks interesting, but the italic faces appear to be simple obliques rather than the unique glyphs of IBM Plex Mono, JetBrains Mono, etc.

Someone has got to break this down for me. Why is corporate font creation so in vogue? What's the business logic in this?
For a relatively low cost (<$100K), Intel gets brand promotion and visibility, a viral marketing vehicle, a way to boost credibility with the audience (developers in this case), the potential to increase the perception of open source support, the opportunity to create community goodwill, etc.
