For anyone interested in a professional typographer's thoughts on this sort of thing, Jonathan Hoefler commented on Word-As-Image for Semantic Typography [1] and I believe those comments are applicable to DS-Fusion as well.

Very impressive. The results remind me a lot of Psygnosis title screen typography from the Amiga era, e.g. Aminos.[1][2]

Noticed that there's no author attribution listed in the paper. I can imagine this will become more common as more significant diffusion advances are released.
