As long as the consumers of these ADHD medications are informed of the benefits and risks, I don’t see why the DEA is so concerned. These medications can give you a cognitive boost that helps make more productive as a software developer in a difficult industry. If an informed individual determines the benefits are better than the risks, that’s their personal choice.
It’s pretty scary stuff. I just spent 2022 grinding without sleep and severe depression due to accidental abuse of this stuff. My doctor did not educate me well and I’ve never felt better cutting it off cold turkey.

As someone who legitimately suffers from adult ADHD I just hope it doesn't impact my ability to get my medication.
