I don't understand why everyone assumes these emails from Steve Jobs are actually emails from Steve Jobs. What are the chances that he has the time to answers all of these emails? For this many to get posted online, there have to be even more that don't. I doubt it.
Doesn't seem like a guy who want other people writing emails on his behalf.
Isn't natrius' point that we have no way of knowing if they're faked? At least that's how I read it.

In that case, how does he have the time to filter the quality emails from the junk? What indicators were there in the sent messages we've seen that make them not junk in the first place? The published emails can't be the only ones that get asked.
I ignore posts like this for exactly that reason. Its sad they get as many votes as they do.
I want a commitment to the Mac and OS X as a first class platform, rather than focusing almost exclusively on iDevices. I expect to be disappointed.
Do you see the last release of Mac OS as a commitment to the platform? The platform is very mature, and rather than add more bells and whistles ala Vista/Windows 7, they decided to product a sleaker, faster OS.
I see this as a positive, but I guess they definately see huge growth from other areas, like the iPhone/iPad.

Depends on what they do with it. Mac OS X has a really good foundation now; the question is whether they intend to build new stuff on top of it, or switch mainly to maintenance until the iDevices can fill its content creation roles.

I think it is going to be an iPod Touch with 3G, a video camera and OS4.0 for ~$300. I haven't heard any rumors of it yet, but I think it can be disruptive.

A smaller 3G iPad. No voice plan, no contract, just data.
Edit: iPad without 3G is $129 cheaper. iPod Touch is $229 cheapest. Adding a 3G chip to it should make it <$350.

Not a very exciting product and you really can’t calculate prices like that.
What you want is a unlocked iPhone and providers which offer some sort of prepaid SIM. And that very likely won’t happen.

While I hope they do slash the iPad prices, I'd much prefer they keep the same form factor for a few generations.
iPad + iPhone = iPon. That will go over well.
What might actually be disruptive is if they made an iPod Touch with phone capabilities, expanding the market by not requiring a $30/mo data plan. Even better would be if the data was available but optional and plan-free, like the iPad.
