I did this with a manual 35mm camera. You can purchase rolls of infrared sensitive film. You must make a focus adjustment when shooting infra red. Most manual camera focus rings have a second focus index mark, since infrared light focus converges slightly differently than natural light. See:

I recall a time that I wrote a program that called for a tape mount and a file to be read where this file spanned 2 volumes. There was a 3270 terminal next to the tape reader. After the job is submitted, I was amazed at the velocity of the read.
The all time favorite raised floor data center story: I worked for a commercial software vendor back in the day where sufficient physical security for the data center was a lock on the building door, but no locks to the raised tile floor area.
One day I walked through the doors of the data center and everything was covered in a fine ash-like powder. Another employee brought their young child with him to the data center. This child pressed the red button labeled “Haylon Dump”.

This! I would add, pick challenging projects. Interviewing and hiring is a two-way street. If the project is not one you deem to be technically challenging enough, then hold out for the one that is. Being a part of a competent team raises your skill level.
In my case, extremely useful as Google requested access to my location, and I declined. With this link, I get to read it with a tiny bit of anonymity. But, I do kid myself. Google already tracks me across multiple sites, so it becomes a small victory if I can find a way to deny them this one bit of data they would like to have.

A Volvo 240 DL, model years 2000 to about 2010. Completely reliable daily driver, safe, comfortable sedan that can goo 500,000 miles with reasonable care. I had three of them over the years. Today, my daily driver is a 2017 Toyota 4Runner after I put 250,000k miles on a 2008 Toyota Highlander. These can go 500,000 miles with reasonable maintenance. I also buy used so others take the depreciation hit.
This! I was constantly looking to grab the next rung up on the career ladder. Having kids made me rethink my priorities on helping them mature into happy, productive members of society. Sure, we made a pile of mistakes along the way in our child rearing efforts. I'm hoping the same, that they will remember me and my wife forever. I think they will.
