I have a m4 max mbp with 128 gb. What model would you folks recommend? I'd ideally like to integrate with a tool that can auto read context like Claude code (via a proxy) or cline. I'm open to any advice
Okay will do. Yeah, I just finished my calendar reading code. I haven't prepared the data for my LLM ingestion yet. Sounds great, I'll refresh this thread in a few days
I have an original backer watch and bought one when they launched. Both stopped working within maybe 6 months and support at the time suggested I just buy another...
Hey Beej, can you talk about what tool you use to create your guides? I'm assuming something like pandoc is involved for supporting your various formats?
Definitely no need but more of curiosity and current smith of time I'm willing to spend on my site.
I've had my site for many years and the analytics set up were set up from the start. The amount of free time I can decorate to my site and the length of my blocks of free time have drastically changed, which made me focus the time I spend on my site to only writing. I have a large backlog of non writing things I wish to do, but can't justify them as of right now.
I'm going to remove the UI tracking component as I never look at the data. It was just something I thought was neat and was exploring for a work situation at the time.
The usage of GA is nice as it tells me what posts are popular but that's really not important in the grand scheme of things. As I always blog about what I find interesting regardless of how popular it is.
So in short, if I was willing to dedicate my time I spend on my site to non blogging right now, is rip out our of the analytics tool. And look for a replacement on the other, or rip it out entirely.
The flip phone component was mostly to decrease the availability of distractions in my life. Which doesn't necessarily mean I'm against analytics but yeah. I hope that answers your question. Thanks for taking an interest in my setup :)
Disclaimer, I have two analytics JS libraries running. One is gA, the other is one I've been meaning to rip out but haven't yet. I also want to add a comment system that ties into say GitHub posts or something else. Open to any advice on making these posts more "hacker" friendly
I hadn't heard of miracope before, so thanks for sharing. I like how the website shows examples of source code for interscting with different providers using miracope and not. That was exactly what I was interested in.
With respect to MCP servers, I saw the comment below about integration with librechat. Is there any other documentation on integrations with other self host able solutions? Be it ollama or other.
I loved my pebble and ended up backing the original product and buying a second. Both broke and when I reached out to support they said there was nothing they could do...
I loved the devices but that put a pretty bad taste in my mouth for longevity
To answer your question in the title, it is still worth it to me, as I get a lot of joy by writing. Pretty much as you put it, there's value to me for writing for it's own sake. Even if no one is reading. It's a cherry on top of someone stumbles upon my posts.
It just so happens two individuals have reached out to me in the past week, saying they enjoyed what I wrote and one of them cited that I saved them time. That just feels incredible.
To answer your questions I don't find my readers at all. I share my content when relevant on reddit or here. I keep writing because I enjoy it.
I'll link my blog post and will remove if asked to:
