The biggest thing to ask yourself, are you ready to start the business or simply build the technology better. Those are very different asks with very different commitments.
If you have passion for the solution to a problem people really need and this is the solution, then run with it.
If you want to build a better database, then step back and consider the former.
Fomo is the same offering as Proof (https://useproof.com). Great case of the same idea in the market with difference customer segments able to produce paid users in a semi-automated-saas model
At first glance, if you can scale your user base you COULD have artists/labels pay you to add songs to playlists (of course that fit) and charge flat fees for the promo playlistings.
Charge $1 / user and setup targeting at genre level for MVP and similar artist level at your later stage version.
So a label/artist says "we want people who like electronic", you have 150 people in the list. You charge the label/artist $150 to add their song to the playlists which you generate.
I can understand the justification. The fact is they are relying on technology to reduce the greatest cost of operations ala personnel. This use of technology is providing data to improve logistics, menu normalization, ordering, onboarding and reducing things such as customer support by surfacing timely information to end users. Alerts on pickup, delivery, etc. It's believed that these efficiencies produce opportunities to improve the margin one percent at a time.
For their tech-driven-optimization methods; one could argue they are a tech company.
Recently I was inspired to, given a time travel story someone shared. They said "If you were to travel from 16th century to today, nothing would be recognizable except church and the school system". In that moment I realized the sad truth in that. So many critical life skills are taught poorly or in many cases not taught at all.
Purchasing land/property/home, credit, investing, financial literacy, emotional intelligence and the list continue -- these are all things that modern education neglects. I am pro-homeschool and advocate my 4 children travel and experience the world as much as possible.
Overall, the application looks solid, there are some glitches that I am sure you would resolve them in future, thanks for making this tool that solves real engineering problems and helps developers to get to a prototype sooner. keep rocking !!
Videos are super helpful when trying to convey the real value of a product to users. So many people skim sites however when it comes to video they become completely immersed.
Would love to know your rates and timelines. The estimates are calculated using ML based on historical product timelines and prices. It would be awesome to jump on an email thread or slack channel and discuss if you are interested.
ComputerGuru My goal was to gain feedback. I'm pretty new to HN and thought to prefix the link with Ask HN: would lead to a discussion about how we use machine learning to calculate pricing and timelines for app development.
