Everyone is wearing a mask, whether or not they are showing symptoms. SK gov has a mask delivery program through the post office. This helps limit the spread. While the US gov tells everyone to not wear a mask, unless they are showing symptoms.
Should probably fact check this before publishing, but the lockdown was rumored ahead of time on wechat. They didn't enforce it for like 8 hours. That's why there were lots of people who managed to flee Wuhan. That's a well-known fact.

In standard Beijing Mandarin pronunciation? If you have a dialect then you might have stronger "sh" sound when trying to pronounce "si" "ci" "zi" "xi", so it's hard do differentiate between "si" and "shi", "ci" and "chi" or "zi" and "zhi". 四是四，十是十，十四是十四，四十是四十。
You might not differentiate too well with "shi" and "si" pinyin in mandarin if you are not a native speaker. Or maybe you pronounce "she" differently. There shouldn't be a "sh" sound in "xi".
I always tell them that I will call them to verify them. Like calling Bank of America customer service first then ask to redirect the call that person.
You can indeed open a bank account in China with Chinese passport or even with a foreign passport. There are lots of limitations without the National ID, but do not spread false information if you are not well informed.
