I first heard about graph databases 13 months ago... there were so many questions in my head, I'm sure my colleagues still have PTSP when my name pops-up on Slack... :D
If you also have questions about one of the most used algorithms used in graph databases - PageRank - I've tried to give examples of usage in various use cases!
What have I missed? What other questions do you ask yourself about PageRank? What other graph algorithms do you have questions about?
I have a DevOps at home who barely finished high-school and now receive double the pay than me with an M.A. - but I am 100% sure he studied, read, practiced, explored a looooot more than me! So it's not enough to just do courses, you almost need to devote your life to it...
Schools (formal teaching) perhaps give you a more structured learning path, you don't waste time (if it's a good program) searching for answers... it can be a good foundation... and everyone must realize - in IT, your learning never-ever stops...
As I understand it, the SA population is quite young and we are waiting for more data to come in on the effects of omicron (says so in the link you provided as well)... let's not forget we dismissed the whole virus as "just a common cold" at the beginning of the whole story as well.
The problem with letting others deal with their consequences is that they are overworking the medical staff, and are disregarding the population that cannot be vaxxed due to medical reasons.
I agree we should move from this fear, but I understand how for some the fear is still too real.
We are using the TP-LINK Deco Mesh AP, and it works wonders because both me and my husband switched to remote work and we can go to any part of the apt with our laptops when we have meetings and the connections is flawless because it allows the device to switch APs without loosing connection.
Also, a thumbs up for hybrid back-uping... External hard-drives and Nextcloud FTW
