It seems like Google starts having a pattern of working with scammers. First they disabled phone call recordings in Android or made it super difficult to enable, now you can't use ytdl to download evidence.
I used youtube-dl to store various videos about vintage equipment repair. Sometimes authors take these videos down thinking that they are boring, rubbish and not useful, but they are a goldmine of knowledge that will be gone in few years.
One would think that German companies exhausted all their luck, when they didn't even get a slap on the wrist for using forced labour during the WWII. Some didn't even apologize. Yet they still pull some dirty stuff from time to time and still exist on the market... that is a mystery to me.
The most important feature in a phone I think is the call recording. If I have a conversation with my doctor, sometimes I like to re-listen to it in case I got the dosage of medication wrong or misunderstood something. I also record all calls with my parents. They are very old now and I want to keep their voice.
I learned that recent Android versions have call recording disabled because Google claims it is illegal to record someone without their knowledge (and at the same time they don't disable the cameras). It is legal in my country though and it shouldn't be up to Google to decide.
So my question is - is it possible to record calls on Pixel 5?
I am in the market for a new phone, but I keep reading conflicting reports that likely call recording is disabled.

I think these kind of things should be taught in schools from young age, so that people would have some understanding why some things happen they way they happen (for example why could laptop that has worked perfectly fine become barely usable after few months) and strategies of critical thinking.
I am pretty sure there would be at least one person in the room when such decisions happen saying that, but there will be another person saying: What about the economy?
Some people unfortunately still believe in broken window parable - that if people could fix their own laptops, then economy would collapse, but they don't think how much people could get progress with their goals if they didn't have to spend money on a new laptop every time it slows down.
The problem is the right to be offended that seems to be a catch all term that makes it okay to block anyone from speaking about things other people don't like.
Government seems to have fallen into this trap and believed that if they don't do something about those poor people who feel offended, they will lost the next election.
It's actually quite bold hypothesis that they have - of course the next lost elections will have nothing to do with increased taxes, more crime and reduced freedom. Not at all. It's all because those pesky people speak their mind on the internet.
FAA should be closed down and then a new organisation should be created that ensures no former FAA associate would ever be hired.
The same with Boeing. Anyone involved with 737 Max should never find employment in this industry.
This behaviour needs to be ruthlessly rooted out.
Why do you need school to learn how to use the software? Isn't what manual and manufacturer resources is for?
School should teach general knowledge about the topic so you should know which tool to pick and why.
This could be quite demotivating to students given that many of the open source developers live near the poverty line. It only teaches that it may not be the best career move.
