As someone who's been using OpenAI's ChatGPT every day for work, I tested Perplexity's free Deep Research feature today and I was blown away by how good it is. It's unlike anything I've seen over at OpenAI and have tested all of their models. I have canceled my OpenAI monthly subscription.
I wonder how this relates to the "mystical realm" - the yogic concept that a certain "life-force" (prana / chi) exists that coordinates, at a higher level, the behavior of cells.
"Covid cases are rising again. In the UK, they have broken through the 200,000 infections-a-day threshold for the first time since April. " -> where are they getting this data?
All data online is showing about 18K cases per day.
Start a daily meditation practice. Just 15 minutes a day can work wonders - I speak from personal experience, having experienced some of those symptoms myself, and pretty much all of them gone. Here is a very effective one:
I wish agents existed, at least for the contract market. Once a contract is finished, it could take a while until one finds the next gig, so having an agent would definitely help. A dream of mine was (before getting married and 'settling down') to be able to work contracts 6-9 months of the year, and to travel the rest. Temporary contract work would be ideal for that scenario.
I understand why the recruiting market is skewed in favor of recruiters and companies, yet I wish there was a bit more quality for engineers. In my 10+ years in IT, I have only met one reliable recruiter - someone I could call upon when I had a need, and who knew my background and skills. 99% would forget about me as soon as that particular position was filled.
Facebook has some uses, but people can't expect it to be everything. They can't expect it to be more than it is. For me, Facebook is good at keeping in touch with friends who are far away. They may have moved to a different place, or they may be in a vacation somewhere. They post pics and impressions about a place. I also like the occasional article links people post. Sometimes people go to events and they advertise it on FB and that's how I find out about them. I might decide to join. All these are very good use-cases. I don't use FB to share very personal or deep things, because it's not a suitable medium for that. Real life conversations, in person or over the phone, are much better suited for that. So, FB is a tool, it has its uses. To call it failure is like saying the phone has failed and we shouldn't use it anymore, just because the Internet is here.
I'm noticing now that the link I provided requires mandatory registration, and their site is not even properly compatible with Chrome. (I was not required to sign up earlier on my iPad) Maybe that's why. I'll see if I can find a different link for the article
