I programmed data export to some xml over a couple of days. Sending xml results via email to an accounting firm for verification. A day after I finished my disk crashed and I lost all my code.
Fed Claude with xml from my mail and... oh shit! ... got "my" code back. (And immediately paid for Claude subscription) :-)
When I moved out from my parents I took a box with aprox 100 floppies. I was pleasently surprised when only 2 were unreadeable all others were ok.
The other box with CDs had a much higher "fault rate". Go figure.

This is what I try to follow - serving html with prefetch data from the server, what could be done on client I do on client to minimize server round trips, minimum css (responsive layout) and vanilla js. Separate web pages as needed.
Somehow that sounds weird and oldfashioned with my colleagues since I'm using only html, css and vanilla js? I don't miss a thing...
Got my first client alert at 8:30 utc+2 (cest) it's 11 hours now.
Miss hourly updates just to get the feeling someone is still working on it. It's hard for technicians but is becoming hard for me as well...
I'm with Contabo for 6 years, (almost) never had any issues. Hope they fix it soon.
