No it doesn't come back in a background check. The only thing that comes back is your title and employment dates.
That is actually how I've avoided all those annoying salary negotiations. Lie about how much I make, let them offer me slightly above that and gladly accept.
Other fun fact with that nugget is that mandate was originally written and lobbied for by UPS and Fedex. USPS's financial woes were manufactured by the public competition..
Funny also how quickly perception of USPS changed. Prior to that many considered them a model of an anti-red tape beaurucratic government entity.
Related side question. A few months before this leaked out I bought a brand new Golf TDI(diesel) and I'm in California where it sounds like my car is technically now illegal?

If I read the comments I see:

So it sounds like they were aware of the issue, communicated out a fix would be in place but 7 days later than the expiration. Someone didn't want to budge those 7 days and released it anyway.
Not that its a big flaw but it seems a bit inflexible. Companies as large and as old as Cisco don't move very fast..
I see a bit of this on the devops world, any employer that does this sort of egotistical dick swagger I drop immediately. There are TONS of good opportunities out there where you don't need to play dumb little games.
And don't get me started on those who use those equally dumb Google questions. "You are shrunk to the height of a nickel and thrown into a blender..." Its not a creative question its basic physics, stop asking things you don't understand or aren't relevant
You can do whatever you like, but if you were raised right than you'd understand his point. Criticizing something that is broken with no desire/ability/whatever to fix just makes you look like a douche. If you can't do anything about it keep it to yourself; you're just wasting time otherwise.
