If the mic on the iPad is acceptable to the reviewer. it goes pretty far to show how he reviewing the product (not as a DAW. but as a really awesome toy).
TouchOSC + your choice of DAW is going to be pretty common for a while I think.
Lack of support for third party codecs (FLAC specifically).
Lack of auto conversion support when transferring to devices.
"Genius" Playlists never work for anything obscure
Ping is terrible
Lack of tagging support (no autotag feature)
I use mediamonkey (i'm on PC), once you switch you can never go back. I can organize my collection exactly how I want it from in the software, i can browse my harddrives to preview music before I add to my library. It supports pretty much every codec under the sun AND will convert it to compatible versions for whatever device i'm syncing to.
There is also a plugin for discogs tagging support (one of the best online discographies in the world), a plug in for "autodj" (based off last.fm).
I realize that not everyone in the world is as anal about organizing music as I am, but for the job, itunes can't compete.
It's a bit different - Apple had the advantage of being the first on the market. They could afford to take some time before shipping the devices. Everyone else has to play catchup now; the longer they wait, the stronger the iPad becomes.
Apple does however release most of their products shortly after they are announced (new ipad nano, apple tv, iphone4)
Companies should really learn from Apple. When you announce a new product; have it ready to ship within in the month. Every single alternative tablet I have seen is coming Qx 2011. I don't want to wait for an alternative - i want it now.
I've been watching this device for a while, it truly is one of the most promising non-Apple tablet devices. The android jungle is being filled with creatures, and they are starting to breed :)
