Instapaper is definitely the number 1 reason I use Twitter as my primary news source - and the integration to the Twitter iPhone app is perfect. Seems like a perfect potential acquisition.
Not saying I disagree, but check out VoiceCentral Black Swan. It's a web app that links to Google Voice, but very much feels like a native app. Much better than the Google website.
FCC still hasn't approved the purchase. I'm hard-pressed to see any anti-trust issues now, but imagine if it got blocked? It will be tough to compete with iAd.
I second that - 2/3 through and have a hard time putting it down. It's written in a way that outsiders can understand the hour-by-hour details of the crisis. While some of his opinions are clear, it seems mostly objective.
While that is relevant for you and me, I'm guessing for the vast majority of phone users, this is meaningless. The average phone user does not download apps outside the app store. I would argue the same folks who do download outside the app store would just jailbreak their iPhone.
Either way, I'm all for a more open approval process.
