I once saw this style be called "broetry"[1], and it's unmistakably LinkedIn-voice. I get that it works because feed algorithms/engagement, but never understood why it seems largely confined to LinkedIn and not other social media sites.

Topo Chico gang! It's my favorite too, in particular the 12oz glass bottles. I really like how it has thick bubbles and doesn't easily go flat.

Their 'Sabores' (flavored) line is nice too, even if I find it doesn't have that same bubbly-ness.

I think what jawns is getting at is precisely because you can't price-discriminate on the payment method, you might as well increase prices for everything in order to cover transaction fees (operating under the assumption that most customers will pay with credit card), which effectively means that cash-paying customers get stuck with those fees.

Most (all?) banks in the US are FDIC insured up to $250k per person. Even if tax payer money hadn't been lent to banks to keep them afloat, provided you had less than $250k across any banks that might've gone under, you'd have been okay. In that sense, saying that they don't really protect your money isn't really true.

Realistically, I'm much much much more likely to lose money stored in a Bitcoin wallet I maintain than money stored in a bank, and I'd imagine that's probably also the case for most people.

Relevant bit (footnote 8 on pg. 4):

Neat! I'd be interested in seeing pythonic solutions written in other languages (to the extent that those languages may allow 'Pythonic' style), too. I find it fascinating to see how certain languages will, for one reason or another, trend towards certain design patterns and styles.

What do you mean by 'full on private mode'?

You can set the privacy for anything you post to 'only me' (which is about as private as it gets, in a way), though I suspect that's not what you have in mind.

This has been a thing for about a month and a bit now. A Facebook engineer posted the following on Reddit[0], explaining the rationale behind the SMS permission:

> As for the READ_SMS permission, we require that so we can automatically intercept login approvals SMS messages for people that have turned 2-factor authentication for their accounts, or for phone confirmation messages when you add a phone number to your Facebook account. Unfortunately, the Androids permissions system does not allow us to specify that we would like to be able to read only SMS messages from a specific number (plus that wouldn't scale well because the list of numbers varies per country, but that's a separate issue).

I'd imagine it's at least partially a feedback loop. Bus routes are determined by looking at where employees live, and figuring out the optimal locations for stops, which I'd imagine is how the first routes opened up. For new employees/employees moving who are figuring out where to live, though, proximity to a shuttle stop seems like a relevant factor in the decision. If nothing else, not having shuttle service could be a point against living in a given neighborhood. I'd imagine if you took away shuttle service away from one neighborhood (just for the sake of argument), you would probably see a gradual decline in the number of employees living there.

Thing is, it'd be hard to quantify to what extent shuttle service availability influences the decision making process, so I'm not sure how much we can say about the net effect of shuttle routes on demand for living in a particular neighborhood.
