I recently tested all the IKEA matter devices, and running the latest firmware I find that the latency on the motion sensor is quite high and the detection range significantly changes based on the orientation of the sensor which is unusual. Overall the devices are good value, but I'd avoid the motion sensor at the moment.

There is a pretty interesting option "nrsyncd" that uses UPNP rather than having to add the 802.11k entries by hand/script. Seems to work quite well, takes a few minutes to gather the information about the other devices. https://github.com/Fail-Safe/nrsyncd/blob/main/README.md

It's just a joke about the ridiculousness that large economy dominating companies can't possibly be replaced and will last forever. Thus, instead of modern companies they give the example of two titans of vintage corporate might (one from several centuries ago and one more recent, just a century ago) are used instead. Ah, Hubris.

In all fairness, you do need to hold down the command key to show the file location in Sequoia. It is an interesting default behavior to pretend the files location doesn't exist, mobile-centric.

Although this solution doesn't really solve any of the fundamental issues with cable rigidity and easy to unplug usb-c/tb ports or the continuous "add another abstraction layer" problems of the ever expanding complexity of do everything on a single cable standard, OWC sells a ClingOn adhesive backed usb-c/tb lockable connector which prevents my cables from unplugging constantly when the wind blows and triggering the "why the hell does my accessory not work oh it's unplugged loop". For a mere $5 each!
