Oh, it’s a great tip. As many of us, I’ve started a lot of projects, invested in creating auth processes, to suddenly get bored from the project and abandon it. Result: 0 users. 1 failure.

If you’re behind a reverse proxy, like NGINX, you could log the traffic and customize the log lines to be more verbose.

After you could index these log files into a search engine, like Elastic Search and perform queries / dashboards through Kibana.

This is the typical stack, so I’m not sure if you’re looking something more sophisticated.

I've written an article about my setup to monitor a Raspberry Pi which was failing with no reason.

I tried to do it in the cheapest and easiest way, and in the end, it's running Prometheus in Dokku, just by 5$/month.
