How soon until we hit the patent abuse endgame, where all technology companies lay off everybody but the lawyers and just sue each other into oblivion?
How is WP8 going to break the web? They have something like 2% of the market, which is hardly a monopoly that can be swing around.
Also, are the IE shenanigans news to anybody? There does seem to be a contingent of fresh-faced webdevs who think Microsoft's reputation for evil is overblown. It wasn't; they certainly did a lot earn it.
Clever. I wonder if the illusion is broken if you actually speak Korean. I would definitely notice if someone chopped and reassembled random words in English.
Waving my hands about the syntax and myriad literary devices in the book to distract the teacher from the fact that I had no idea what was actually going on. :)
Why can't the "privileged classes" discuss these issues and have open discourse with women? As long as both parties have open minds, it seems like a far better way to walk in someone else's shoes.
I'm gay and think that it's hard for many straight people to understand some of the setbacks I've encountered - but I would MUCH rather talk about it to achieve better understanding than letting people assume that I'm seething and angry all the time.
When I went on a foreign exchange trip to China in HS, I brought along a bunch of coursework for my other classes back home. Of all the books I chose to write a report about, I chose Ulysses, because of its critical reception.
Once I arrived in China I cracked open the book for the first time, and the nightmare began. I searched in vain for any English-language bookstore I could find in the hopes of replacing Ulysses with something more... comprehensible. Writing that report was more painful than wisdom teeth extraction.
What sucks is that a lot of good places like The Atlantic and Wired are also applying their brands on link-laden blogs with no editorial standards whatsoever. It's short term gains at long term losses to their credibility.
I would like to start a curated list of high quality journalism sites with a policy of delisting the sites that go The AOL Way, given sufficient evidence provided by users. It would be awesome if we could remove the profit motive from stooping to scrape the bottom of the barrel.
It's heartening that their business model is failing. I hope it means that it keeps ever more developers from falling into that short-term trap of extracting value through psychological manipulation instead of creating things that are useful or enriching.
I would like to pay the folks that manage the wonderful apt software repository. Not one red cent to the Unity team, though. I don't like where they are taking Linux.
