If you were to pick where would you choose to live? It’s very much a trade off, salaries are higher in the US, but the quality of life is piss poor compared to anywhere in Europe. Healthcare is terrible and expensive, Education is lousy and expensive, housing is expensive and city life, outside of a couple of cities, is mediocre (car centric, no culture, segregated). Oh and you are at-will employed, which means you are one phone call away from getting fired on the spot.

I can confirm. I didn't go all the way to the PhD, doors opened earlier than that for a basic analytic job (and the compensations don't make you think twice about staying an extra 5 years in academic).
Econometrics, and by extension statistics, is the most sell-able assets you have as a fresh grad. It is so transferable that you can pretty much work in any industries. I fitted models to forecast water pollution. Although, I should add that most tasks required from analyst are: data cleaning and descriptive analysis.
From there you can demonstrate all the other skills (project management for example) and evolve in whatever position interest you the most.

These are fantastic advices to turn into an arrogant insufferable person. I used to be that person, it’s miserable. There is a lot of good in drinking the social kool aid and embracing our cultural quirks
I have been a semi-similar position, worked 3 years in non-tech world where I was a full-stack tech lead wizard champion. But decided to go into tech, since I wasn't learning anymore and was tired of being considered a senior in my field when I actually was just senior in my role.
Long story short, joined tech, got wrecked and started to doubt about my skills.
Things to keep in mind:
- you got hired. unless they did a shit job interviewing they probably know that you are not Martin Fowler
- you made this career move for that very reason: learning, getting your ego shuddered a little bit
- talk to your supervisor and share your feelings
There might also be some other issues here that are not completely tied to your skills/competences. Some projects are tough. I would not consider working on a codebase that is full of hard coded values, magic and hacks "medium difficulty". In fact, this sounds like a really difficult task as you have to make constant trade-offs (refactor/rewrite/leave it alone).
Anyway, don't be so hard on yourself, we all suck at our job. Communicate with your team.

Maybe, I missed the latest Medium article on why we are near adoption(!?). The tech is useless and detrimental to our earth. It finances terrorism, human trafficking and other ponzi schemes.
But Elon Musk... just pumping an unregulated market. The fact that he created Dogecoin is a pretty strong giveaway of his stance on the subject of the blockchain
I'm not sure how they fucked up, they have a good technology and their development studio wasn't doing too well, so they rationally stopped that part of the operation.
For a demo, it's pretty good, I use it everyday, I haven't been limited in my use. Actually, I could not play AAA games with my current set up, now I can, on whatever screen I want. Reading you, I'm not sure you've actually tried it.
Also, it's cheap.
As for the bashing stadia as a proxy to bash google, that's exactly my point, people seems to gain satisfaction in bullying behind their keyboard, it's annoying. Google is not perfect, but their products are really good, get over yourself.
I have seen a lot of Stadia bashing since they shut down their development studio. It’s annoying. Stadia is an awesome product and a very promising technology. It’s sad for that one game that everyone seems to worship, but has never played it, I can’t remember its title.
