Right, but when plants grow, they are net CO2 absorbers -- that's what photosynthesis and carbon offsets and "planting trees" is all about. There's a lot of carbon in those plants -- did it all come CO2 from the original supply in the bottle?
Yes, but the white bars give you an (imaginary) non-box boundary that doesn't cost any vertical space, and lets the 3-D effect appear in the middle of the frame, instead off sides/top/bottom
