Don't worry Alvy, those who really know Pixar, really know you were there right from the get go.
My whole fascination for computer graphics came from a 1987 BBC documentary that included a section about Pixar, Alvy, Bill Reeves and Loren Carpenter (part of it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r-zlQ1kVK1k&t=375s)
It still blows my mind too that there isn’t a single opinionated framework. Imagine how much further forward JS would be. Rails is still an order of magnitude more productive than anything we have tried on JS, but everyone asks for JS because easier to find people. Truly maddening that JS somehow grabbed the popularity crown.
I've lost count of how many product owners have interchanged the word Database with Blockchain to try and score some PR points with their customers/bosses.
It is quite astonishing how seamless Apple has managed to make the Intel to ARM transition, there are some seriously smart minds behind Rosetta. I honestly don't think I had a single software issue during the transition!
I sometimes ponder whether we fundamentally just went in the wrong direction from the very start with quantum physics, but we ended up so far down the road it was impossible to start again.
