I agree completely. Security is not black and white, same goes for agents that are malicious, if you’re protected from script kiddies by changing your ssh port and adding fail2van then it’s a net positive any way you look at it. It’s important to be aware of course that you’ll need to go a step further if you want to protect from more competent attackers, but what percentage of us will be a target of one of those.
Completely agree, tbh both decisions (sanctions and no sanctions) have certain bad implications. But imho sanctions are much more dangerous in the long run for the US foreign policy.
A lot of my friends and coworkers from Eastern Europe share my sentiments. Every job I’ve had was due to being recruited via LinkedIn without me lifting a finger, starting from 1k euros gross per month, up until 15x that.
I dunno, it literally got me to a 180k salary (Eastern Europe based so astronomical) just by me having a profile there. I didn’t have to find a job since 2015 thanks to it. You might argue that the feed is shit, but to me it’s normal human behavior trying to stand out and abusing everything that you can (including feed algos), so I just don’t look at it.
I’ll be forever grateful to LinkedIn and I would never be in the situation I am right now if it hadn’t have been for it.
Or don’t move out because you operate a business out of Germany and none of this is relevant. How many businesses do you think ever reach a phase where this is a problem, let alone actually reach it *and* want to move elsewhere.
These sound like straightforward bugs to find. I found it weird/hard to believe he would just blame it on something out of his control and nobody would question it.
