I think it's an alluring idea for match making. But what's to stop OKCupid from releasing this same feature for their audience in less than 3 days. I assure you that their engineers also read Hacker News. That aside, really innovative use of youtube, better than Feross Aboukhadijeh's creation of Youtube Instant.

Inside the Delancey Station (next to the Williamsburg Bridge - Manhattan Side) there is a huge underground open area which served as a small train yard up until the 60's/70s. This place has leaks, garbage, graffiti and rats. It would cost significantly more money to convert this area into a park than was spent on the highline.
Keep in mind that facebook's engineering philosophy is to push new code out every single day. This means that there is little to no QA on code push. Every engineer takes responsibility for their own code push and because people are human they mess up from time to time. I don't think this means that the culture is broken... there are simply pros and cons to on the fly site builds.

I think it will be interesting when certain classes of people reject the idea of being privately recording without their permission and will simply refuse to hold a conversations or interact with anyone wearing the device. Kinda like a boycott against the device's impedement into social situations. For example, if I was at a job interview and my interviewer was wearing this device, I would walk out the door. Even if the job was at Google.
Yea, that's David Carr's voice (the NYTimes writer). He's kind of a skeptical luddite, but I have immense respect for him. He's one of the central figure in the NYTimes documentary "Page One: Inside the New York Times."
