Reading Computer Shopper adverts was more challenging that this drivel, "Oh, I don't mind that I don't own the software or even know what they do with my data because it is soooo convenient lol this RMS guy is so out of it!".'

The server should only send compressed data if the clients sends a request with the header "Accept-Encoding: gzip, deflate", which indicates that there is support for compressed responses.
