>"We make analyzing a rental property so easy Grandma can do it!"
There are lots of grandmas who are engineers, scientists, doctors, and inventors. There are plenty of ways to land that message without carrying forward the spirit of 1950s Madison Ave. Plus, that copy doesn't tell anything about the product, it's fluff.
"Analyze deal potential without leaving Zillow"
"Automatically analyze rental properties as you browse"
The article is saying that Zapier is ripe to be unbundled.
Meaning it does many different things across many verticals, and that some of them are big enough that a company could be created around building a more specialized / better version of zapier just for a specific vertical.

Thank you for your amazing work!
It would be great to document that supported subset for Bodymovin to AVD — the Lottie supported features[1] matrix is awesome, and it would really create a ton of value to also document AVD support for Bodymovin in the same way. It's so black box right now, troubleshooting involves tweaking path nesting, exporting, diff xml, tweak, export, repeat.
I would recommend filling in real address details in Mailchimp. After I entered my email and was taken to the confirmation page I immediately regretted it when I saw the "1234 B St LA, California 90210" address. Not a good signal for legitimacy.
TropicalMBA for startup business talk. Nathan Barry Show and Kalzumeus for inspiring, actionable content. Seth Godin's Startup School series is pretty timeless as well.
I've been working in the motion design industry (vfx/animation for broadcast and commercials) for 12 years.
I'm excited by the convergence of our industries. The existing talent in the motion industry will need some guidance - right now motion graphics often revolve around "concepts powered by wizz-bang-wow!", and will need to become much more intention-driven to have successful user experiences.
More and more motion companies are branching out in some form or another to the "digital" world - apps, digital content (pre-rolls, short-form video ads), etc. I think companies that can "realize" the priority of user interaction and implement that in their offerings will be in a great position as companies like apple/google/facebook look for their help.
AE has a pretty powerful javascript-based scripting language that can write exporters like this very easily. I regularly write exporters for passing timing/transform matrices back and forth within our 2D/3D pipeline.
Like russell_h said, the email includes just a teaser snippet so you have to click through - and I've never encountered the BWoD (Blurry Wall of Death) after clicking through.
I rarely initialize my use of Quora by visiting the website - I have found immense value in the digest emails they send. They are a mix of things they know I'm explicitly interested in, and generally "interesting" things (presumably defined by popularity). Probably 90% of the time after receive a digest email, I open at least 2 or 3 of the links within.
I have tried visiting the site directly and am rarely able to find content as stimulating as the links they send in the digest emails.
>I also really enjoy the fact that I can install Play Store apps directly from my desktop web browser.
Totally agree. Very similar to the Amazon "Whispersync" for kindle. I loved stumbling on an app online that looked interesting, click install, and next time I take out my phone it's just there ready for me.
I recently switched to a iPhone 5S from many consecutive android phones, and this is definitely on my list of things I miss.
I'm interested to know where ideas like this originate within the company. Outreach like this is great for their brand within the dev world, though this may be more altruistic than CTF (semi-recruitment tool). There's no question that both initiatives are clever enough to make one wonder how they come to life internally. Love the idea(s)!
