When would you use 0mq vs Google's grpc? What are the main differences between them? I rarely hear them mentioned as alternatives to each other, but I haven't been able to grasp the differences.
While most American do not live in rural areas, most Americans also do not live in urban areas. You need a car in the suburbs and that breakdown does not mention suburbs at all and simply lumps them together with urban areas.
Isn't that necessary though? If your surgeon is operating on you remotely, don't you want those packets prioritized over my LOL Cats download? It seems there are services that are impossible to provide without quality of service guarantees.
This article is absolutely awful. I've never read anything more factually incorrect.
"Free Press is concerned that Google's deal with Verizon to secure special internet privileges on its broadband will lead to other internet providers brokering deals with major companies. First Verizon and Google strike a deal, then AT&T and Microsoft have a deal ... here comes Comcast who cuts a deal with Yahoo"
There was no "deal". It is only proposal. And it would grant no special privileges to either party.
That being said, it is good people are beginning to reorganize in favor of net neutrality and hopefully will make their views known to their Congresspeople.
I don't understand why people equate Google winning or losing with its net neutrality stance. Google has been hugely successful on the net. Surely it would be in their interest to not have net neutrality and to have their traffic favored over competitors, but they're not advocating that. I really don't follow your argument.
It's odd that the tuition rates are the same. I went to a very expensive University and for many majors it made plenty of sense. The school probably could have charged twice as much for computer science because of how many people I knew graduating straight out of undergrad with six figure jobs, but if you're an English major I can't imagine it being worth it.
The article says the stock has to be acquired after March 15, 2010, and before January 1, 2012. How does this play with vesting schedules? Is stock considered "acquired" when granted or when vested?
I hadn't seen http://zazzle.com/wedding+invitations before either, so now I'm curious how weddingtype.com would be different. It'd be good to think about a couple places where you might be able to differentiate by focusing on this particular niche. E.g the ability to add extras to the card such as ribbon. Also, one thing I didn't like about Zazzle was that I can't order just 1 invitation. I'd be nervous about ordering 200 invitations I'd never seen in person and would want a sample first.
That's awesome!! Thank you! I just gave up my Windows machine for Ubuntu and F.lux was one of the things I missed most.
Is there a .deb I can download directly? I don't think I can add new repositories on my work computer.
Yep, the two most basic things to do in any negotiation are start high since the price will only be negotiated down and develop your BATNA (best alternative offer).
241 teachers were not fired over low test scores. 76 were fired for not having proper credentials. 165 were fired for poor performance which takes into account factors in addition to test scores such as classroom evaluations.
I'm curious if anyone knows why it sounded like there was a jet engine in the background throughout the video? Was it just a bad recording or was there some reason why the room had to have a crazy amount of ventilation?
Huh? The stock market absolutely has to do with allocating capital. It, together with the bond market, is the place where large companies go when they need to raise funds.
Bond traders and stock traders alike both balance the risk and reward of a company's offering in order to determine a fair value for that offering. Valuing risk and reward is valuing the company and valuing the company is the most critical part of a stock offering. Any post on here about raising money from a VC will talk about the valuation of the startup.
I can't speak to any particulars in this situation. I thought I would add that it's not necessary to know C++ (I don't :o). It is true that there are people who work on projects that are entirely written in C++. However, there's not generally a requirement that applicants write solutions in a particular language and pseudo code is usually fine.
