I just got an itch to try out Emacs, after years of vim. Installed Spacemacs and opened it. It tried to install a bunch of packages, mostly from Github it seems because it kept failing.
I've had this happen to me multiple times now. The last time it happened, I was trying to learn Kotlin Coroutines and found them very difficult. After struggling for a while I gave up and stopped. Almost a week later I gave it another try and to my surprise found it very easy to understand. I felt surprised and elated.
Try Drew Neill's book- Practical Vim. It's the best vim book I have read. There is just so much information packed into that book, it's astounding. It made me go from a vim beginner to a vim semi-expert.
Exactly. I've developed for Android and I found the tools to be horrible. Eclipse is slow and hangs a lot, the emulator takes a long while to start and the only debugging tools you have at your disposal are console and Logcat. Xcode has an entire Instruments app with dedicated tools for detailed debugging.
Facebook is incredibly expensive to run and maintain. How else do you expect Facebook to make money except by showing ads so that they may keep on providing you with a free service with a 99% uptime? They have earned the money they are making. It's not like they sat around twiddling their thumbs and suddenly Facebook's massively complex architecture just assembled itself and started working. They've solved massive scalability problems and its evident when you use the website. So, stop cribbing about those pesky ads when you're being provided with a free service.
The relationship you have with Facebook is symbiotic. If you know better, let's hear your ideas for better and less intrusive ways to make money from Facebook?
I live in India and I had my fingerprints and my irises scanned almost 6 months ago. This is mostly being done to curb impersonation at polling booths during elections and to stop credit card/pension/cellular connections etc. fraud. This is a big step for India and I hope they succeed.
