Thanks so much, yes I like how you can go to pacman/apt and boom everything is right there! Also I’ve become much more keyboard oriented in navigating and macOS just doesn’t have the same navigation as i3, hyprland, etc. It is intimidating a bit, but I haven’t really felt a challenge on the Mac/windows side for so long that I’m looking forward to it! That’s great advice the main distros tend to have tons of support for much longer and easier to maintain I’m sure. I currently have a Mac mini m4 so I’m thinking a similar sized box with an AMD setup inside, those small mini PCs.
Awesome, I'll take a look at Toshy, too. I was looking into PopOS or CachyOS (with Cosmic). There seems to be such a vast amount of Linux distros and window managers than I remember from a good 5-10 years ago.
Everything seems to be tied to a subscription now on the Windows/Mac side in some way, its been very off putting for me.
I currently have Claude Desktop installed on a separate Mac mini M4 and control it with Dispatch. Is there a reason to do this method, it still seems the way I have it setup it has full control over the local account I gave it on the Mac mini.
I really wish Google would make a macOS desktop app for Gemini just like ChatGPT and Claude have. I'd use it much more if I could login with my sub and not have to open a web browser every single time.
People are so excited for cloud gaming, and Xbox Game Pass growing now... The price will continue to go up up up up up up. I remember when YouTube TV was $35/mo now it's $73/mo. Game Pass and all cloud gaming will slowly cost more until it's close to 1/2 the price a month of a game, and slowly creep up from there. Sad.

I felt the same reading the article. So much hate towards a single human. There are many ways to express dislike or disagreement with someone or their ideas and management styles without being so explicit and rude about it. It seems like its a badge of honor and prerequisite to say "I hate Elon, ok moving on about Mastodon..." I believe it's possible to dislike someones views and still have common ground and dialog, but I guess I'm in the minority (online) now.
