Here [1] you can find another example of writing OS from scratch. Going through chapters progress is made iteratively by making limited changes in each step. This OS is intended to be (RT)OS for embedded computers, but example arch-level is implemented for x86.
" The game was also balanced around the auction house - meaning fewer high quality items drop, with the belief being that you're selling those few high quality items & kitting yourself out from the auction house."
AFAIK, Blizzard collects interest on each real money transaction, so if they're optimizing for maximization of that interest (I'm assuming they do) they aren't minimizing occurrence of the rarest of the items. They should behave like diamond cartel...
If someone barely missed passing through 1st round, chance for him to make it through any of the following rounds is practically non-existant. Exception being if he's experienced competitor who fell short for some reason.
I don't find it acceptable to budle up issues of creationism/evolution and climate change. Writer is being devious when he's doing it so lightly as he did; especially when climate change wasn't mentioned in the title.
Just a note of marginal importance: I'm pretty sure that speeding up movie 1.5 times would bring its runtime from 2hrs to 1hr:20mins (not 1.5hrs as mentioned). With 24 frames per second 2hr movie has 172800 frames. Speedup brings framerate to 36 fps, and dividing we get 4800 seconds, or 80 minutes.
Edit: Thank your for pointing that out leberwurstsaft!
