I feel that there is too much stuff "above the fold" in newspaper parlance. It's fine for main project pages, but for subsections, such as the project wikis, I wish Github would move the content far higher on the page.
I also wish that startups would use a bit more "personable" email address. Emails from [email protected] or [email protected] just look odd. Instead, the reply-to email should alias to your help email address, to simplify sending requests for help, or just sending comments and feedback.

One thing I'd like to see more about is the cost of running everything on AWS, and how much the costs would increase if they moved from SimpleDB to DynamoDB.
In many ways, I think the author is echoing the same frustrations as with Google App Engine's Datastore ( http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3431132 App Engine charges $6,500 to update a ListProperty on 14.1 million entities ). Both Google Datastore and the new AWS DynamoDB are great, fast services, but they are a bit too expensive at the medium/high end.
Frankly, I wish App Engine/AWS/Heroku/etc would introduce a database that traded speed for cheaper costs. I'd be fine with certain writes being delayed if it meant lower costs.
Additional info: I recently graduated with a Finance bachelors with a high GPA and multiple awards, and I have experience with working on Google & Twitter apis.
