I remember something similar being mentioned in a podcast by Huberman, that dreams serve to get used to stuff that we fear, in a nutshell. Maybe not directly stuff that we fear, but maybe stuff that makes us uncomfortable? Dreams are a way to teach us stuff that seem essential to us but we found them uncomfortable to face.
Interesting research topic by the way. I will take a look at your paper.
OP I like you. You are a refreshing voice in the current tech jungle. I think your post clicked for me and made me think about my projects/ideas and how to approach them.
So, thank you I guess. I would like to see more of your stuff and your approaches.
Omg, the boulder thing is something that happened to me a lot when I was a kid. Then it stopped for many years and then at some point I could do it again. I don't know you can make it happen. It scares me a little bit to tell you the truth. If it happens now days I try to shake it off.
This is a great idea and I think I heard a few good ideas and even thought of my self a few, about how Reddit could be more profitable. Which is weird, why they went with the API model. It's really suspicious. It's like they want to raise its value fast and dump it. It really looks like the want to sell Reddit.
How do you feel afterwards? Let's say after a hard working session with music on. Because I just like you, use music for concentration and I can pull some long hours, but afterwards I have difficulties calming down. Maybe it's because I am tired, but I have some suspicion that the dopamine hit from music might be the culprit.
I feel that the genre of audio documentaries didn't catch up all that much. At least to my opinion, because I never listened to anyone. Maybe that genre is in decline? The long form discussion podcasts to my opinion are going better and better. To me, the unedited long discussions between people, or even monologues, is podcasting.
Good idea! Will definitely try out Enso. Also, I was almost tempted to reach out for a quick talk and say hi! Maybe some other time I will schedule a 1-on-1! Kudos for being easily approachable. You seem like a fun and interesting person
> i wonder if the average professional coder, still has. chance to beat the big teams ?
I shared the sentiment but I have began to think otherwise. First of all, we need solutions to big problems. I wouldn't want to tackle Brain tumor problems using DL but someone with the brainpower and resources such as NVIDIA, why not?
But besides that, the whole scientific field is pretty young. An average coder or DL researcher isn't useless because Google has all the machines. There are fields where DL isn't used much. Even in the DL field there are problems to solve. Algorithms to optimize.
Well, I would say that by eliminating foods is only part of the problem and can guarantee you success. I think changing the way we eat and live is better.
For starters, you could eliminate the extra-processed foods from your diet and add more natural sources of food.
Then you could follow a regiment of 2-3 meals a day. Put the protein heavy + fatty foods in the first meal of the day and the carbs heavy foods as last meals.
Make sure you are eating enough nutrients. Don't be afraid of salt.
Add lots of fermented food cause there is a link with improving the gut and its ability to fight inflammations.
Add movement and exercise, and make them a habit. Get a fitness buddy.
Make sure you are a getting regular good sleep.
I would recommend you a great podcast series called the Huberman lab, where this Stanford professor offers great insights about how the body works and what are the latest news from various research fields.
