I often use a mind mapping exercise. You start with a word that's central to your product or service and then branch out with words that spring to mind. You'll be surprised by how the associated words in your thought cloud will bring forth great imagery. Additionally, this exercise is great for logo design ideas.
Just be sure whatever you come up with is easy to spell and recall. Also, your name strategy should be 'future oriented'. If you should pivot will your name still work? Think ahead of how your product & services may evolve over time.
Licensing, compliance with endless laws and regs, and quarterly and annual reports for several departments of government. It's especially discouraging when you speak with a particular branch of government and they have no official interpretation of their new laws, as a result you may or may not be in compliance, they're still deciding.
Make sure you consider any future accounts you may be opening when making your decision. For instance, my startup requires me to have three trust accounts that name a real estate broker as trustee, which really means that there can't be any commingling of monies. So far I've only found one (Mechanics Bank) that offers these types of accounts and it's not one of the 'top player' banks .
Also, make sure their services have low fees or perks , and if they offer services that may unique to your business, such as ACH transfers, or check courier services. It's really helpful in the long run.
I used to have a high fashion blog, and I would have probably found it valuable to curate my trending wishlists and to show off what I've bought and where from.
It's kind of like a clever way of showing off what you own without bragging
I'm also unclear about what it's all about without signing up. Is the general idea that you can see people's reviews about products and keep a catalog of stuff you own and want?
Sounds like a time saver! I continuously find myself trying to think of the most general searches and sifting through countless pages to find nothing, it's frustrating.
The problem may be that it would only be scalable within Urban areas. Often on Craigslist I'm faced with the problem that I can't post to specific communities or locale's within a city such as Westside, downtown, or a housing development.
Yes it's a problem! There are slews of videos that aren't discoverable because the person who uploaded the video didn't submit enough or the right content in the title, tags, description and so on. The search fails to account for content within the video, and phrases and terms the author couldn't think of or was inept for whatever reason to add. Using only one tag, a nondescript title and a description that vaguely says "My dog and I". As a result so few videos are searchable for what is otherwise a common phrase. Maybe if the users could add tags or categories themselves to a video for the community, or common terms and phrases within comments or closed captioned could be contributed to the search.
As a side note, I'm often frustrated as a designer when I search for something stylistic and hardly anything shows up, such as "Black and White", when we all know there's plenty of B&W content.
