I was hacked 3 times on okc. Thankfully, all the info there I put was fake, I somehow sensed their security is wack judging from the user interface and the constant app crashes and bugs. There are also multiple reports of users who got hacked. I remember on one occasion my phone number was on a conversation and was picked up by hackers to text me in person pausing under some "Jessica".
Lol. I remember Chomsky saying GE is not about manufacturing much as it ought to be, but rather about moving money in very complicated ways.Who foresees its collapse in the next 5 years?
[You should expect to be attacked by a whale because you happen to be in the ocean.] Indeed.
You just confirmed what I said. And do you have a peace treaty with wildlife that you should be at peace when in their territory? Quit being a snowflake.
Amazing writing style. I felt walking Hong Kong and every emotion that ought to be felt there.
[Trains are now running every seven minutes, instead of very two, and MTR regrets the inconvenience.] Ah the New York Subway :/
No one thought of reaching out to Facebook to see who this Lee is?
Oh wait, Facebook can't be reached XD, and please see FAQ related to death threats lol
Can youtubers go on strike and take the content down for a limited time? If such an option is available and they do it, it would be a relevant strike. But since those who are joining the Union are the one demonetized provides that Youtube isn't making as much profit from their presence as those who are still running ads. In such case, the former ones will need a way to engage those who make profit align with their doctrine, so the strike can be a blow to youtube. Bottom line to me; Not Gonna Happen (NGH).
It also becomes a hurdle to read the footnotes. I often times got sucked in them and forget even how to come back to the original text, let alone the original idea I was reading.
Yes indeed, although I assume that since Mandarin is more accessible for learners, it can serve as a 101 to classical.

[None of what has been said up to this point is to suggest that studying Chinese language and early thought is only for the classically curious and linguistically intrepid].
My synopsis:
The only way to understand text is to learn the original language. When I compared Arabic text with translated versions for example, although done by supposedly professionals, I couldn't help but sense awkward misalignments in context. Perhaps the interpretation (understanding) of both reader and writer differ, and so does the translation. The transcending misunderstanding can not be rectified unless a glance is made at the original. I know learning another language just to read a book is indeed way too much, but it is worth it, for you will not be reading one book eventually, and learning a language like Mandarin in this instance is an exciting experience. Examples of books I've read in original language and translation include Political Ideals by B. Russell, 100 years of solitude By G. Marquez, Spirits Rebellious By Khalil Gibran. I am also learning Mandarin, but rest assured, I still need another 5 years to be able to read and write decently.
