Getting TC publicity is near impossible unless you're announcing something big like funding or a major partnership deal, or you're already being backed by a big player / VC / Investor, etc...
Sensational Headline? Isn't that what most headlines on HN are anyway?
We're not trying to praise rogue employees for shunning corporate policies and opening up huge security holes.
The reality is that it's happening regardless. People are going to do what they feel they need to to get their job done.
Thus far, the general approach to dealing with this is to enforce more policy, block where possible, etc... which again, has done little to reduce employees from "going rogue".
We want to open the conversation on better ways to solve this problem since current methods simply aren't working.
As a network guy who gets that best understands the risks and consequences of unsecured, unsactioned clouds being used in a company - what would you suggest as potential solutions to give employees tools they need to get their job done, and the Company and IT the security it needs?
Interesting. Have you seen any specific case studies of organizations taking a CYOD strategy?
I wonder if this leads the way to CYOT / CYOC (Choose Your Own Tech / Choose Your Own Cloud) corporate strategies as well - same as BYOD paved the way to employees and business units turning to Shadow IT to get the tools they need.

I've resized the logo so it's smaller. We're working on implementing a better payment gateway - the current page that's there now is temporary. Thanks for flagging the issue though with the oversized logo - it did look pretty terrible.
We've updated the Nav bar and got rid of the "glowing green" as well as adjusted the layout of links in the footer. Great suggestions, thanks for pointing these out!
I'm pretty sure I had this issue - changed a bunch of my privacy settings, and tried to go find specific posts that were in fact DM's from the past, publicly displayed on my timeline, but couldn't. Also saw this response from FB on TC:
A spokesperson told Constine:
“Every report we’ve seen, we’ve gone back and checked. We haven’t seen one report that’s been confirmed [of a private message being exposed]. A lot of the confusion is because before 2009 there were no likes and no comments on wall posts. People went back and forth with wall posts instead of having a conversation [in the comments of single wall post.]“
Previously Facebook issued the statement:
“A small number of users raised concerns after what they mistakenly believed to be private messages appeared on their Timeline. Our engineers investigated these reports and found that the messages were older wall posts that had always been visible on the users’ profile pages. Facebook is satisfied that there has been no breach of user privacy.”
