This is outrageous but not surprising at all. In my opinion, more than a car safety issue, this is a money-making issue.
EU pushes car manufacturers to build safer cars but this has a high cost. European customers respond well to marketing campaigns promoting safety. Therefore, those extra safety costs have a good return on investment.
In the US, car safety is not considered as important as in EU because companies don't think there will be a good ROI. Because car manufacturers don't believe is viable enough, they tried to hide this report.

We evolved/improved in so many ways, especially technologically speaking but when it comes to parenting, we should go back to the basics. We know how to work, create an app, market a product... but when it comes to raising a child, this is another issue.
Parenting is a basic knowledge, which is getting lost. The importance of parenting and the ways to raise a child could be more taught at school.

I am not surprised. Last time I was in New York, I wasn't in downtown and it was so hard for me to get a taxi. There are so many taxis in NYC but most of them stay in the same area. As soon as you are not in a populated area, it's close to impossible to grab a taxi. I am pleased that Uber is making things move.
Very interesting approach. Choosing a company name is very important. I especially like the name-association part. I would just add 'meaning in foreign languages' because sometimes a company name can sound well in English but could mean something bad in a foreign language.
Actually, I don't think anyone can blog well [You need to be able to write well, to express your ideas well and so on.].
The article says that everyone can start learning how to cook or to program by practicing but this doesn't mean everyone can do it well. This is why not everyone can program. The author emphasises on the fact that not everyone can become a good programmer.
This is true for almost everything: some people are just more gifted than others. For instance, everyone can learn how to play music, play sports, market a product, learn about marine biology, sciences... but this doesn't mean they will be good at it.

It sounds great and much more protective than passwords. You can't copy/imitate behaviors.
However, I am wondering if the system still works if you are tired or sick. Your behavior might change in this case and therefore the system would not recognise you.
What a great story. It's so nice to see real philanthropists: people helping others before helping themselves. In the Tech industry, many startups claim they will make a change and make the world better when they actually think that they will make their own life better.
This woman is a perfect example how the Tech industry can give to others directly.
This is why large companies should be more regulated. They should not be able to put pressure on labels or producers and get all the benefits.
What Apple did by killing this startup is not ethical. Plus, by killing it, they tried to get a monopole. Microsoft got so many fines at the time because they had the monopole on PCs. If a large company tries to destroy startups just because they feel threatened, they should be penalised the same way Microsoft did (With huge fines) or I think of another way: forcing large companies to work with startups instead of shutting them down.

Maybe Uber doesn't make the Taxi service better yet but it will. Having new competitors will force taxis to improve their quality. This is true for any industry: as soon as new competitors enter, quality increases and/or prices are getting lower.
I never said that writing a program wasn't intellectual. I said that by using a program to solve your Sudoku problem, you would not think anymore. It's like if I win at Chess but I actually don't play, I just ask a program to show me my next moves. The person who created the program used its intellect but not the ones using the program.
This is good to know that we can win Sudoku with a computer program but not surprising.

Their amazing growth proved how important it is to focus on people more than numbers.
Electricity will become cheaper thanks to renewable energies (Solar, Wind...) and energy storage improvements (Batteries). But, I think we should point out that those energies represent large investments at first. For instance, building solar electricity plants is very expensive, the same way as Wind power.
Germany is a good example: they stopped nuclear plants to increase their renewable energy production but costs of electricity increased a lot there.
I'd say electricity costs will go up first (because of high investments) and then will decrease.
You can't be big in China if you don't have local contacts. If you are a small startup or a small company, you are fine. But if you are a big one, you will be blocked unless you have political contacts.
Then, once your company is blocked; a Chinese company is going to create the exact same service but with a lot of censure added to it.
Uber is a great service and a great idea. However, they encounter many legal problems. I am not surprised that Hillary Clinton wants to move this industry... a bit like the French government does.
