Well... I've seen a particularly aggressive company use their IP to kill competitors.

You can't make a specific file format without using this company.

It seems any free or low cost competitor gets bought by them.

It's made the CAD world horrible.

Vegetarian is lower cost and better for the environment.

11 year, self taught programmer here. Chem engineer by degree.

I had to program for eng 101, engineering 280 mechatronics, and our senior design.

I'm not a programmer by degree, but I was often the only one in group projects that understood what needed to get done.

I don't know what I missed out on. I've wrote AI since college and created embedded systems.

Programming feels unlimited.

But what don't I know? Security? Faster algorithms? I don't know what I don't know.

I did this for 3 years. Things you didn't mention-

Breaks exist, and are encouraged. I have to take breaks in my office setting and bosses act like it's not okay.

You get good at the Physical activity. The first month sucks, after that it's fine.

The Physical activity isn't as hard as it appears. There are often tools to aid. I found my 2 Physical jobs was more mental than Physical.

I can't fathom what life is like in such a small country.

If 1 major company goes out of business, does it cause chaos?

High unemployment and lower tax revenue sounds like any moment the country could find itself in an economic depression.

In my local area this almost happened.

Interesting. I have a multi color LED strip I'm looking at. Posting this on the internet from a smartphone in a far bigger house than a 1950s engineer, my car has worked for 12 years....

Here is a question, can we take this author seriously? Citations are nice, but it doesn't meet with reality.

Why is this author proposing living standards are the same?

Have you heard of biphasic sleep? 6 hours at night and a 20 minute nap saves 12 hours a week.

I've been doing it with my wife for 4 years, feel good and it's made me happier.

Wake up after work like it's a new day.

I'm one of the rare types that like working, and this has me doing 40 hrs plus home projects.
