The impact of this was that I would sometimes “wake up” and have no recollection of how I got to where I currently was, I continuously lost everything, and had trouble with math word problems that were described over long paragraphs.
My parents actually originally went to the doctor because of the stress caused by always losing things.
Interesting analysis, but as a current student I would find the things she wanted to change to be annoying in high school. It probably depends a lot on the student, but I really just wanted to listen to the teacher teach. My best teachers really knew their stuff and assigned interesting work for homework.
The ones that tried to get us to hop around were not appreciated. I'm there because I want to learn, not do jumping jacks.
Starcraft is known for the speed that you need on your keyboard hand to play well. You can certainly play RTSs badly with one hand though (which is what most people do, it might even be more fun this way).

It's like that at MIT too. I also see people do one sentence emails like "Meeting at X location EOM." I never used it in high school but now it's the main form of communication for more than one on one chats.
It's not encrypted client side, so the server is getting it unencrypted. They also return the data unencrypted, so if it is stored encrypted, it's not that useful encryption since the server also knows how to decrypt it.
Also their privacy policy notes that they'll give authorities access to your messages if they receive a warrant.
I was trying it, but I think I would have preferred to see higher security for something only used to communicate between two people. Since it's only two people, they could decide on a secret outside of the app and then encrypt all the information sent between them with this secret so that the server doesn't need to be trusted. Are there any apps for couples that do something like this?
Couple appears to encrypt information between client to server using SSL, but the information is stored plaintext on the server.
It's not that far off the top tier pay for tech companies. Glassdoor compiled their list for 2014, and it's not too inaccurate [1]. Speaking from personal experience, the numbers for SWE undergrads for some of the companies on the list this year:
Palantir - 7,500 - 1,200 for housing if you choose
Facebook - 6,200 + free housing
Salesforce - Varies per year, 34.50/hr for rising junior, housing.
Cisco - 22/hr
Quora and Dropbox are both missing from this list but they both have higher salaries than Palantir, but not by too much.
