Wow the title of the article is pretty insulting. You're not an adult unless you're in a suit or business casual attire? I thought this sentence was pretty biased and disparaging as well:

Wired's framing of this story is entirely to generate rageviews. And if it stays on the HN front page for a day because we hate it so much we have to comment, it will be one of their top articles for this month, and mission accomplished.
The fact that majority of people think programmers are superhuman... I can live with that.
I can't begin to imagine the scale of such a monster in the US, ten times the population for starters makes it an order of magnitude bigger.
UPDATE: fail on the US population, I thought it was 700 million - didn't bother to check
