Email [email protected] and ask nicely :)
Edit: Only HN admins can see the "email" field in your account. If you want other people to see it, you have to put it in the "about" section.

It looks like you can just update an email to something meaningless. Though historical records might be retained for comment history, there is no specific reason that the username itself could not be removed.
