I watched the whole thing wondering when they would start talking about the new Apple VR/MR headset... Silly me...
While this is an interesting phenomenon the statement "your eye works pretty much like a camera" is so inaccurate as to be reasonably called false. As this statement also detracts from the video title I'm not sure why it was made.

Hey this is really cool. They are "xx xxx" out text everywhere except where you are directly looking at. And it looks mostly the same. I would expect this, but it's cool to see someone doing it.
After the part with the text they talk about eye movements when you are looking at a scene. They eye jump around about 3 times a second.
I wonder if that explains something I noticed when looking at a blinking LED in a dark room?
I've got something that normally has a steady green LED when it is standing by. When it is activated the LED blinks with about a 25% on/75% off duty cycle with a period of a second or two.
This thing is in a room that can be pretty dark, but that I can navigate in easily without turning on a light, and the control that activates the thing is next to the LED so I can easily find it by touch. As a result I often don't bother to turn on a light when I go to activate the thing.
I've found that in that case I cannot stare at the LED after it starts blinking. I'll be staring right at it before it starts blinking, then it goes off, comes back on...and I'll find it is now 10-20 degrees away from where I'm looking. I move my eyes to recenter it, and next time it goes off and comes on it is again somewhere else.
If there is enough light in the room that I can see anything nearby when the LED is off then I can successfully keep centered on the LED.

I think it's cool when you move your eyes across white LEDs you can see them break into their primary colors(depending on the PWM).
