He might (or might not) be pro-republican but he has been donating to both parties
Businessmen traditionally donate to both parties, as their business depends on friendly relationships with politicians. But their actions, especially when they're in charge of sensitive infrastructure with leverage like a social network, matter a lot more than the fact they give a bit of cash both ways.

Introducing strong bias in the way they run their business, to favor positive outcomes for a given party, the same way WSJ has a clear bias against Twitter. Isn't it obvious Musk has a clear pro-rightwing bias in the last 7-8 months? He's been retweeting Tucker Carlson like a moment ago, who was too libelous, conspiratorial even for Fox News. If it's not clear what's happening, I doubt elaborating on every instance would change anyone's mind. Just enjoy the show, I guess.
I haven't read his Twitter account in a while because he lies too much so I haven't seen the Tucker retweet... And I refuse to login to be able to verify your claim ... Not sure why but I can read some tweets without login in but I can't see Musk's account without logging in

He's consistently rightwing going on about the woke virus that'll destroy the world, how cis is a bannable offense, retweeting conspiracies, supporting conservative youtube and radio hosts, it's the full program. It's kinda odd to watch a rich man who could do so much more with his time and be better informed, be essentially a southern uncle.

This would explain why the FTC is trying so fiercely to "nail" Twitter recently, and why the Republican party is fiercely attacking the FTC in return.
It's definitely not lost on both parties that Elon remaining in control of Twitter and pushing pro-rightwing agenda may be a significant factor in determining the result of the next elections.
So it all seems aligned to politics. Which is frankly becoming the most disgusting aspect of American culture. There's no criteria other than "whose side you're on" anymore. Doesn't seem sustainable.
